SIMON O'CONNOR | Director
Simon has over 18 years’ experience in the public and private sectors of planning. He has significant Auckland wide and international experience as a principal planner at Auckland Council and its predecessors in both the policy and regulatory divisions. He also worked for the largest independent planning consultancy in the United Kingdom and held a principal planner role within the major projects team in London’s third largest borough personally being responsible for projects well in excess of $100 million which included commercial high rises, national distribution centres, shopping malls and apartment complexes often in excess of 100 residential units.
Simon's broad range of experience across all facets of planning has resulted in him recently being involved in the creation of the Auckland Plan, Unitary Plan and leading the first ever area plan for the Hibiscus and Bays area all for the Auckland Council.
Simon's particular passion is in the regeneration and land development fields and is an active property developer having personally undertaken his own subdivisions, residential new builds and residential conversion projects. Having been a developer, planning consultant and Council planning officer in the development process, Simon has the unique ability to guide you through that process in minimal time and expense. Simon can recommend other specialists with the skills and cost effective practices which result in the maximum return for any development.
