ANNA THOMSON | Consultant Planner
Anna graduated with Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Environmental Management from the University of Otago and is an associate member of the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).
Anna has over 6 years of planning experience in both public and private sectors. Anna has worked for Auckland Council Isthmus area, in both Pollution Response and Incidents Investigation teams for over a year and a half. This involved working with consent holders to ensure sediment control and containment methods are in placed ensuring they meet the RMA and identifying District Plan breaches, as well as responding to discharge incidents by implementing appropriate emergency contamination methods. Investigation of district, regional and discharges to air, land and water was also required to achieve compliance with statutory requirements, and determine areas of non-compliance to assess environmental effects.
Anna has also gained over 4 years of experience in resource consenting, also secured a role as a consultant planner in Sentinel Planning as of August 2017. Anna has been involved various resource consenting projects which include the preparation and assessment of resource consents for residential developments, subdivisions, billboard and signage applications, utility structures, and regional consents including stream remediation works and restoration of public walkways.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys being at the beach with her dog Sarge and genuinely enjoys chatting about the weather.
Anna is currently working part time at Sentinel planning as she has a new role at home as a mum.
